AVIATION

Why Aviation??? We love to fly and in the areas we work, 20 minutes of flying equals a day of canoe travel on the river, hours of hiking through dangerous trails, or hoping that the main road to a town is excisable by car. In an emergency, that's the difference between life and death. In Baja for instance, aircraft represent the most efficient way to transport medical supplies, professionals, and medicines to the mission field. This is especially true of the remote areas of Papua New Guinea where flights are not available in most areas, landing strips are scarce, and medical facilities are non-existent. To effectively provide medical transport in the watery Sepik Province for instance, Samaritan Aviation must use amphibious aircraft, the only amphibious operation in PNG.

We are currently working to raise support for an amphibious aircraft such as a Cessna 206 and to set up our aviation program in PNG.

In the mean time, we are happy to use "Samaritan One" to make as many flights as possible to Baja, delivering meds and bringing medical professionals to the people.
