Mercy Flight
Read an actual letter from one of our flights…
Now that my life is getting a little more on track again, I wanted to send a note of thanks. I’m not sure that I could ever explain the lasting impact you have had on my life. The care and compassion that y’all showed my family while my mom was in her last days allowed me to be strong during a time when I was needed the most. Not only did you show care and concern for my mom, but for myself and my dad as well. Considering the circumstances, I met some incredible people that week. It’s always a bit surprising and certainly refreshing to meet genuinely caring people. I know your work must take you on some incredible rides. Dealing with the multitude of personalities and responses to human crisis has to take its emotional toll. Thanks so much to everyone at Samaritan Aviation. Y’all are a batch of amazing individuals. Because of your efforts, my mom was able to pass happily here at home in California. I am certain she knew where she was, as she became quite talkative in flight! She made it 22 hours after landing. I was holding her hand when she finally slipped off. My dad was standing near her pillow with his hand on her head. It wasn’t easy to watch her go, but there is some relief in knowing that she is no longer worried or in pain. If ever you’re having a hard day, and you think you just aren’t getting through to someone…please know that you are touching them deeper than you can imagine. Thanks for all you have done!
